Vishnu, Alka triumph

KOCHI: Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya’s Vishnu Gopakumar and St. Teresa’s School’s Alka Raj won the boys’ and girls’ titles in the Ernakulam district junior chess championship here.

The event’s top-four finishers will represent the district in the State championship to be held in Palakkad in August.

Final placings: Boys (seven rounds): 1. Vishnu Gopakumar (6.5 pts), 2. R. Pareekshith (5.5), 3. R. Sandeep (5), 4. A.S. Sreejith (5), 5. J. Yohan (5).
