TIRUCHI: The district administration has directed private organisations conducting immunisation camps in private hospitals to adhere strictly to government norms and regulations. In a press release issued here on Monday, Collector T. Soundiah said camps should be held only after getting permission and should be held under the direct supervision of a competent medical professional. The venue of the camp should be kept neat and tidy and the person administering the vaccine should have adequate experience. Needle disposalThe needles should be used only once and disposed of in an environmental friendly manner. The sterility of the vaccines should be ascertained by the medical officer prior to administration. The Collector warned that criminal proceedings would be initiated if any of the above norms were flouted at such camps. He also appealed to the members of the public to ensure such camps were authorised by the government.
