TIRUCHI: Concerned by increasing credit card offences, a white collar crime perpetrated mostly on foreign tourists, the police department invited experts to create awareness among investigating officials like sub-inspectors, inspectors and deputy superintendents of police drawn from across the Central Zone comprising eight districts on Monday.

Police officials, including many handling cases, learnt from the experts from different banks the ways of gathering evidence and narrowing down on offenders. The training was conducted on instruction from Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, K. Vijayakumar, Superintendent of Police – Tiruchi Rural, A. Kaliamoorthy who organised the awareness programme.

A similar training was conducted for officials of the city police two weeks back.
