Revenue official held on graft charge

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Monday arrested Idiga Venkata Narasimhulu, Mandal Revenue Inspector, Uyyalawada mandal, Kurnool district, after ‘catching’ him accepting a bribe of Rs.3,000 from the complainant, L.N. Obulesu, for doing an official favour, release said.

Cash seized

In another case, ACB officials seized unaccounted cash of Rs.58,162 in a surprise check of the Sub-Registrar’s office, Anantapur, on Monday.

The checking was done following credible information that the office staff was ‘indulging’ in ‘irregular’ practices. An amount of Rs.32,497 was seized from nine private persons (document writers) who had allegedly collected bribe from persons who approached them for registration of documents.

The release stated that unaccounted cash of Rs.2,150 was seized from Gulyam Ramakrishna, data entry operator.

Cash totalling Rs.23,485 was found lying under a drinking water can in the office. The release said necessary action was being initiated.
