HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party has ridiculed the efforts of the opposition parties to forge a “grand alliance” with the ‘sole aim’ of defeating the Congress government led by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The CLP claimed that the efforts of the opposition parties, the Telugu Desam in particular, reflected their “helplessness and disappointment” over the growing popularity of Dr. Reddy. “The TDP leaders are scared about their prospects in the next elections and are contemplating alliances with different parties,” Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
