Plea for medical varsity in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: The Federation of North Kerala Chambers of Commerce and Industry has protested against the reported move to set up the proposed medical university in Thrissur.

The federation, formed by merchants’ organisations in North Kerala, blamed the people’s representatives from northern districts for the move, alleging that they had failed to present a strong case to set up the university in North Kerala.

Appealing to the government to review the move to establish the university in Thrissur, they said that a mass agitation would be launched if the government ignored north Kerala’s “legitimate claim” to be the seat of the medical university.
