Andhra Pradesh - Hyderabad

Milk to cost more from tomorrow

HYDERABAD: Milk price is to go up from August 1.

The price of one litre Vijaya toned milk pack will be Rs.21 and half-litre Rs.10.50, as against Rs.20 and Rs.10 earlier, a press release from the Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd said here on Wednesday.

The federation stated that it was constrained to raise the price in view of the increase in the procurement price of milk given to farmers from Rs.255 to Rs.260 (morning) and Rs.260 to Rs.265 (evening), hike in the fuel cost and other operating costs.

The revised price will be applicable on monthly cards also purchased with effect from August 1. However, the monthly card-holders who have already purchased cards for July for supply up to August 10 will continue to get at the pre-revised rate.
