Acquire computer skills, journalists told

RAYADURG (ANANTAPUR DT.): Computer literacy had become a must for journalists and it was time for all those who were not aware of using a computer to acquire the skills for better and speedy discharge of their duties, Superintendent of Police M.K. Singh said here on Wednesday. The spread of information technology in the media was rapid that one need not wonder if the mandal-level journalists started using computers for their professional and personal needs in the next five years. Speaking after inaugurating the month-long computer training for working journalists, rural reporters, of Rayadurg division here he said it was quite necessary for the mandal reporters to acquire basic computer skills in the media sector on Saturday. District vice president of APUWJ K. Jagadish explained that the scribes would be taught Telugu composing, pagination, photo scanning and other aspects.
