Taj-GVK hotel to be ready by 2009-end

HYDERABAD: Taj-GVK Hotels Ltd. has said that the work on the Rs. 80-crore five-star hotel at Begumpet here is progressing well and is likely to become operational by December 2009.

The company, in a statement here on Wednesday, said that it was planning to spend around Rs.500 crore in various projects. The Rs. 160-crore hotel, Taj Mount Road in Chennai, would become operational next month.

Hotel Taj Deccan here was under renovation and would have a new restaurant, restobar and 23 guest rooms at a cost of Rs. 25 crore.The land owner of the five-star hotel in Begumpet was building the structure and the company would do the interiors. The hotel would consist of 189 rooms. The company also proposed to construct 43 service apartments, 7,000 sq. ft spa and an additional car parking facility on the premises of Taj Krishna at an estimated cost of Rs. 75 crore.
