Chaitanya Sravanthi, a voluntary organisation, will campaign extensively against the ills of liquor. Addressing a press conference after releasing posters for the campaign here on Wednesday, its president S. Shirin Rahman quoting a survey said 45 per cent of people were drinking liquor. Though the State Government had announced that it would form de-addiction committees, they had not materialised. The devastating effect of liquor and its easy and abundant availability could nullify the benefits of the ‘Arogyasri’ health scheme introduced by the government, she felt.
