Plea to check traffic violations

PUDUCHERRY: Peoples’ Pulse, a non-governmental organisation, has appealed to the Transport Department to enforce the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 to check traffic violations in the town.

In a letter to the Transport Commissioner, organisation secretary S. Ragothaman said the need of the hour was to intensify vehicle checks to ensure proper movement.

The NGO also wanted steps to check over crowding in town buses, autorickshaws, tempos and mofussil buses.
