Consumer index up one point

SHIMLA: All-India consumer price index for industrial workers (CPI-IW) (base 2001=100) moved up by one point to 140 in June due to increase in prices of cooking gas, rice, wheat flour, vegetable and fruit items. Point-to-point rate of inflation based on the CPI-IW, however, fell to 7.69 per cent in June from 7.75 per cent in May.
