Suryachakra to set up solar power plants

HYDERABAD: Suryachakra Power Venture Pvt. Ltd. (SPVL), an arm of Suryachakra Power Corporation Ltd., will be setting up concentrated solar thermal power projects (CSPPs) in Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Managing Director, Suryachakra Group, S. M. Manepalli, said that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy permitted 5 MW of solar power for every State. Accordingly, the company would set up the plants at a cost of Rs. 450 crore.

Tie up

He said the SPVL entered into a tie-up with MAN Solar Millennium GmbH of Germany.
