Shivani enters quarterfinals

HYDERABAD: M. Shivani got the better of Hanisha Vasi Reddy 6-2 in the girls’ under-12 pre-quarterfinal of the Modali Krishna Murthy sub-junior tennis tournament e on Friday.

The results:

Pre-quarterfinals: Boys: U-10: Chama Nikhil bt Neerab Tulani 6-0; Akhil Verma bt P.V. Gnanabhasker 6-0; B. Vaishnav bt Vishal 6-0; G. Gourav Reddy bt Videesh 6-5(12-10); V.V.S. Rahul bt Ch. Avinash Krishna 6-1; B. Siddarth bt Khaja Misbahuddin 6-3; Syed Abbas Ali Sajjad bt Vikram Raju 6-1.

Kannan wins title

Kannan scored a 6-1, 6-3 win over Srikanth in the final of the TCS corporates tennis tournament here.

The results: Final: Kannan bt Srikanth 6-1, 6-3; Team event: Semifinals: GVK bt Microsoft 2-0 (Kannan bt Amital 6-1, 6-3; Kannan & Gopala Krishna bt Nikil & Ravi 6-3, 6-2).

Satyavani bt Computer Associates 2-0 (Eswar bt Shyam 6-2, 6-1; Eswar & Srinath bt Srinivas & Amar 6-2, 2-6, 6-0).

Bobji’s death condoled

Hyderabad Cricket Association condoled the demise of C. Ravinder Prasad, popularly known as ‘Bobji’ in cricketing circles.
