CHENNAI: Team Sidvin India’s Naren Kumar is in the 12th place (with four rounds to go) in the Production World Rally Championship category, after seven competitive stages of the Neste Oil Rally of Finland on Friday.
“The terrain is misleading, especially the crests,” said Naren. The crests already claimed the car of WRC’s favourite and local hero Jari-Matti Latvala, who went off into a ditch during the third stage of the day. Rain during the day had also made it a little difficult to judge the grip in places, although overall Naren is very happy with the consistency of the surface. “We still need to work on some of our pace notes. So we’re not pushing at the moment, just taking it easy. We’re driving at perhaps 80 per cent,” said Naren. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
