Hokkaido: After last week’s ecstasy, Jeev Milkha Singh tasted agony on the Japan Tour, failing to make the cut at the Sun Chlorella Classic here on Friday. Winner of last week’s Sega Sammy Cup, Jeev followed his poor opening round of 75 with a horrendous 77 to crash out of the tournament, missing the cut by two shots. After the first round misadventure, Jeev needed an improved show to hang around for weekend action but all he could manage was a couple of birdies as against three bogeys and two doubles bogeys in his wretched round. Takuya Taniguchi (72) shares the top slot with Tetsuya Haraguchi (71) at two-under 142. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
