Hyderabad lad bags National Award

HYDERABAD: City student, Himanshu Giri, studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya Air Force Station, Begumpet bagged the National Award during the Earth Day Celebration 2008 for his painting titled ‘Global Warming’.

The award was given to the sixth class student by Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dixit on July 27 during the celebrations that were held in New Delhi.

Spot painting

Himanshu was selected in the preliminary round during a spot painting competition that was conducted by Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University and was sent for the final round to the Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi.

Himanshu has to his credit, six other awards at national level, two state level and 10 district and city level awards.
