Sachin for ACA function likely

VIJAYAWADA: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is likely to visit the city for the laying of foundation stone for a gallery in Andhra Cricket Association’s exclusive stadium coming up at Amaravathi Township near Mangalagiri.

Speaking to media persons, ACA secretary V. Chamundeswaranath said on Saturday that soon after Sachin’s return from the ongoing Sri Lanka tour, an auspicious day would be finalised at the convenience of the little master for the function.

Mr. Chamundeswanath said that the ACA would send a proposal to the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation seeking Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on lease for five years. “ We will take care of the development of the stadium, as we anticipate conduct a couple of IPL matches and international matches in this stadium,” he said.
