KARUR: Member of Parliament K.C. Palanisamy declared open a girls’ residential school at Taragampatty in Karur district recently. The building was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 lakh under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. Under the SSA fold, the Kasturba Gandhi Paalika Vidhyalaya is functioning at Taragampatty in which girls under the age of 14 were getting education with free accommodation under a special project. The MP also acceded to a request of the teachers for an iron grille gate at the entrance to the building. Collector T.N. Venkatesh presided over the function in which the Krishnarayapuram MLA P.
