‘Fun n food’ village on the cards

The Rs. 4.5-crore project coming up near the Police Officers’ Mess

Work on the ‘village’ to begin this month


VISAKHAPATNAM: From fast food grease joints to healthy low-calorie dishes from McDonald’s, yummy dishes from Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and 16 other world famed branded food chains will form part of ‘Fun n food’ village coming up on the picturesque beach road here soon.

The food court and theme park being developed by Image One Enterprises was recently given the go-ahead by the authorities with the allotment of 1,435 square yards near the Police Officers’ Mess.

It will involve an investment of Rs. 4.5 crores.

Children and their families can have a gala time with fun games and competitions to be conducted by the food joints.

The added attraction at the village will be Snow World, Whacky House, Mirror Maze and banquet halls to host kiddies’ parties and small get-togethers.

“We will develop, finance, build and operate the food court and theme park on BOT basis. The Fun n Food village is being developed on the designs and consultancy from Scenic Route Ltd. of UK in conjunction with their counterparts SNOMAKX, Hyderabad,” M. Raja Rammohan Roy, the company’s CEO, told The Hindu.

Mouth-watering fare

Work on the project will be grounded this month. It will be thrown open to the public in 12 months.

It will serve quick bites, local delicacies, north Indian and south Indian cuisine, continental fare, kebabs and wide varieties of ice creams.

He said their endeavour was to create the best of cosmopolitan environ with international standards on a lovely location in the village to attract denizens and tourists to have a splendid outing.

18 food stalls

The village will have 18 food stalls to cater to the people from all walks of life. Fast foods, Indian and Western, Traditional Indian food, North Indian and South Indian, snacks from all over India and world like Chinese, Thai, Italian, Mexican,etc, featuring branded outlets.

The total facility will be able to cater to at least 1,000 people on any busy day and 10 counters will be open for lunch and dinner on week days.
