5 girls die in temple wall collapse

AHMEDABAD: Five teenage girls were killed and eight others injured when the boundary wall of the ancient Gopnath Shiva temple on the sea coast in Talaja taluk in Bhavnagar district in Gujarat collapsed on them on Saturday afternoon.

The police said the girls, all from Bhavnagar, with their family members had gone to the sea coast and the 700-year-old temple on the occasion of the start of the Shravan month.

They were standing close to the temple outer wall when it collapsed all of a sudden.

One critical

The injured have been admitted to the Talaja and Bhavnagar hospitals, where the condition of one of the injured was stated to be critical.
