HPCL gesture to Sankar Foundation

VISAKHAPATNAM: HPCL - Visakh Refinery on Sunday donated hospital furniture- 364 metal perforated two and three-seat chairs, 204 lockers, 216 general ward cots with mattresses, three intensive care unit cots, 59 dilation chairs and 12 examination tables – worth Rs.35.7 lakhs to Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital at Vepagunta.

HPCL Chairman and Managing Director Arun Balakrishnan formally handed over the furniture to Executive Trustee and CEO of Sankar Foundation K. Manimala.

He also gave away spectacles to students operated upon in the hospital. As a part of its golden jubilee celebration,

HPCL had organized a screening camp in coordination with the foundation in which 7,500 students were examined and operations were performed for those requiring them.

Mr. Balakrishnan appreciated the services and contribution of Sankar Foundation in serving the down-trodden by providing eye care. HPCL Director (Marketing) S. Roy Chodhury, Director (Human Resources) V. Vizia Saradhi, Chief Vigilance Officer B.R. Mandal and Executive Director Visakh Refinery P.A.B. Raju participated.

HPCL has been in the forefront in discharging its social responsibility by serving the underprivileged in society.

As a part of its corporate social responsibility, it has been extending various benefits, like furniture to schools, scholarships, drinking water and shelter to schoolchildren.
