BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday stayed further proceedings by the Mysore police against Ganapathy Sachidananda Swamiji. The Mysore police had booked a case against the swamiji and arrested him following a complaint by Anil Kumar, owner of “The Village”, a resort adjoining the swamiji’s ashram on Nanjangud Road in Mysore. Mr. Anil Kumar’s complaint was that the Ganapathy Sachidananda Swamiji had encroached upon the land adjoining the ashram. The Mysore police had registered cases against the swamiji, who then appealed to the High Court. Justice Mohan Shantanagouder, in his interim order, stayed proceedings against the swamiji and adjourned further hearing on the case. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
