Protest against petroleum dealers’ decision

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The Private Motor Thozhilali Union, affiliated to the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), has condemned the decision of petroleum dealers to shut down petrol bunks after 8 p.m. on weekdays and not to operate them on Sundays.

In a press release here on Monday, union secretary Joy Joseph said the decision would adversely affect private motor employees and passengers and should be withdrawn. He sought strict action on the part of the State government and warned of strong protest if the decision was not withdrawn. The State committee of the Kerala State Consumer Welfare Organisation has decided to launch a protest against the decision.
