Land for Videocon’s LCD unit allotted

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Government on Tuesday decided to allot land for India’s first LCD panel manufacturing facility to be set up by the Videocon group. The decision was taken at a meeting of the State Cabinet here. Videocon would be given land belonging to Cidco for setting up the project, which is expected to cost Rs. 8,000 crore and provide jobs for 10,000 people.
