Man held, 2 kg opium seized

PUDUKOTTAI: The Narcotics Control Bureau officials on Tuesday arrested a man at Karambakudinear here and seized two kg of opium from him. Kumar was arrested and produced before a Judicial Magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody. He has been lodged in the Tiruchi Central Prison.

The officials said the seizure followed the interrogation of Sakthivel, who was arrested last week at Erode with four kg of opium. Sakthivel and Kumar were agents for smuggling opium to Sri Lanka. — Staff Reporter
