7 killed in accident

AMBUR: Seven people were killed, and seven others injured, when a mini-lorry in which they were travelling rammed a lorry near the Ambur Cooperative Sugar Mill here on Wednesday.

The police said the victims were from Kudimenalli village in Krishnagiri district. The mini-lorry was proceeding to Anaicut in Vellore district.

The deceased were identified as Gananavel (25), Munnusamy (20), Saravanan (27), Chinnasamy (40), Maliga (45), Rani (30) and Rajamanickam (30). The injured were Madhu (45), Malammal (45), Govindammal (20), Perumal (42), Kaliappan (50), Munisamy (45) and Perumal (32). The Ambur Taluk police have registered a case.
