Kancheepuram takes honours

Chennai: A.C. Parthipan and K. Varun Kumar made centuries and shared an unbroken 220-run third wicket partnership as Kancheepuram strolled to a first innings lead win over Villupuram on the second day of their inter-district under-22 match on Sunday.

The scores: Villupuram DCA 215 drew with Kancheepuram 267 for two in 62 overs (A.C. Parthipan 102 not out, K. Varun Kumar 131 not out); Kancheepuram won on first innings lead.

At Nagercoil: Erode 189 and 70 in 27.5 overs (W. Antony Das five for 25, H. Simeon four for 36) lost to Kanyakumari 144 and 117 for seven in 35.4 overs (W. Antony Das 46, R. Udayakumar three for 38).
