PUDUKOTTAI: The re-make of ‘Kadhalikka Naeramillai’ will not just cheer up the audience but also relieve them of their depression. It will also expose to the present-day generation the significance of comedians. No wonder, the re-make, with actor Madhavan in the lead, is all set to maintain the fabric of humour and comedy all through, on the lines of the original film released in the sixties, says film director and actor Manobala who is working on the re-make now. Interacting with the students of the Department of Visual Communication of J.J. College of Arts and Science here on Wednesday, Mr. Manobala, said that not many of the present-day film actors had seen the original film. “Comedy alleviates the depression of the film-goers. Information technology professionals prefer comedy films as an instant remedy for depression,” he says. He said that he saw not much difference between art and commercial films. “Such classification is too hard a task for me,” he answered. However, films such as ‘Paruthi Veeran’ had gained the dual distinction of being an art and commercial film. Success formulaThe success of a film depends on various components such as story, script-writing, director’s capabilities so on and so forth. “In my view, the success of a story depends on the impact it leaves on the minds of the film-goers,” he said. The impact, if lasting for just half-an-hour since leaving the cinemas, would do well for its success. College Principal J.
