“Give right address for new ration card”

VIRUDHUNAGAR: The Collector, V. Chandrasekaran, has urged the people to provide correct residential address when they submit applications seeking new ration cards.

In a statement, the Collector said that 4,007 out of 9,166 applications seeking new ration cards were rejected for various reasons.

Following complaints that many applicants had given wrong information, including wrong addresses, the Collector said that personnel had been employed to weed out such applications. Stating that 4,134 applications were found eligible after scrutiny, Mr. Chandrasekaran said that 1,838 cards had been printed and 980 distributed.

He said that printing of ration cards was being done at the district-level and advised the applicants to provide their new address (in case they had changed their residence) to the Taluk Supply Officers to facilitate easy delivery of ration cards.
