Training programme for judicial officers

Coimbatore: Judiciary Department is organising a zone-wise training programme on techniques and tools for timely justice in Coimbatore from August 8 to 10.

The programme to be inaugurated by Justice V. Dhanapalan, Judge of the Madras High Court, will be for the 69 judicial officers from the Coimbatore, Erode, the Nilgiris and Karur districts and will be held at the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy on Cowley Brown Road in the city.

Focus

The programme will focus on time management, case flow management, court management, use of information and communication technology in achieving timely justice, use of IT in legal research, Indian Constitution: Its vision of Justice: Fundamental Rights, Indian Constitution: Its Vision of Justice in Directive Principles and Writ Jurisdiction, Human Rights – Best Practices, Appreciation of Evidence in Criminal Cases, Civil Cases.

The resource persons from judiciary would be Justice S. Jagadeesan (Retired High Court Judge), Madras High Court Judges, Justice Elipe Dharma Rao, Justice P. Jyothimani, Justice T. Sudanthiram, Justice S.J. Mukhopadhaya (Executive Chairman of State Legal Services Authority-Chennai), Justice R. Banumathi and Justice P.K. Misra.

N.R. Elango, Additional Public Prosecutor of High Court, Madras, N.V. Nagasaubramanian, Senior Advocate of Coimbatore. Professors A. Kandasamy, Department of Bio-Medical Engineering, PSG College of Technology, V. Mahesh of PSG College of Technology, K.R. Chandran of the Department of Computer Technology of PSG College of Technology will also be the speakers on various subjects.
