Niland upsets Udomchoke

NEW DELHI: Conor Niland of Ireland upset top-seeded Danai Udomchoke of Thailand 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 to enter the semifinals of the ATP Challenger tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex here on Thursday.

In another match, Brydan Klein of Australia beat Japan’s Toshihide Matsui 6-2, 6-4.

In the other quarterfinals, Joshu Goodall defeated fellow-Englishman Chris Eaton 6-3, 6-4, while Tomas Cakl of Czech Republic beat Japan’s Gouichi Motomura 7-6(3), 6-2.
