TIRUPUR: The eighth edition of Knit show, an exhibition of garment accessories and machinery, began here on Thursday at the Velan Hotel Fair Grounds.

According to H. Krishna, a director of City Leaves, all products related to value addition of garments, from yarn to packing, are displayed. Most of the accessories are usually imported by the garment manufacturers. Seven foreign participants have displayed their products directly and several others through their domestic representatives.

The forecast is encouraging for printing and hence “we have printing machinery from Italy and Portugal too,” he says. New varieties of fabric, accessories and innovative products have been brought to the garment industry in Tirupur. The four day event will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the entry is free.
