Kohli in squad; Ishant rested

Mumbai: Ishant Sharma has been rested for the five-match one-day cricket series against Sri Lanka, but he is in the 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.

“The selectors have decided to rest him. They also feel that S. Sreesanth has to play domestic cricket to prove his match fitness,” Niranjan Shah, Secretary, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said.

The Selection Committee, which met here on Thursday at the Cricket Centre, picked promising Delhi middle order batsman Virat Kohli for both tournaments.
