Two trapped

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police arrested two government officials for allegedly accepting money.

The Lokayukta police caught Vittal Yamunappa Bavikatti, the Second Division Clerk in KHB, Bijapur, while he was allegedly accepting Rs. 6,000. Mr. Bavikatti had allegedly money from Riyaz Ahmad Abdul Kahdar Ganihar for forwarding the latter’s application for a site to Assistant Executive Engineer.

P.A. Uttappa, a Village Accountant in Mangalore taluk, was caught while he was allegedly accepting Rs. 8,000 for acting on an application for land conversion.
