DCC hails Antony

Thiruvananthapuram: The District Congress Committee (DCC) has hailed Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony for the speedy clearance of the Vizhinjam project. A meeting of DCC leaders here on Friday said the defence clearance for the project was the successful culmination of efforts launched by Mr. Antony during his tenure as Chief Minister.

Speakers at the meeting said the green signal for the Vizhinjam project was proof of the special interest shown by the Centre towards the development needs of the State. They cited the Kuttanad special package, the railway coach factory at Kanhikode in Palakkad, the Vallarpadam container terminal and the Kannur airport as other examples.
