On bail, man commits suicide

KARAIKAL: Out on bail, Vasu (36) of Agalangan village in Karaikal district in the Union Territory of Puducherry allegedly consumed poison and died at the Government hospital here on Thursday.

Police sources said that Vasu was arrested for allegedly torturing his wife Nirmala (32) of Tirukkalachery in Nagapattinam district for dowry leading to her suicide two years ago. Vasu was awaiting the case verdict in the district court here on Thursday.
