VIZIANAGARAM: CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu inaugurated the newly built party office, near RTC Complex, here on Saturday. The building was named after former State secretary of the party Laavu Bala Gangadhar Rao. Later, speaking on the ‘party’s stand on the political scenario’, Mr. Raghavulu said opening party offices would mean strengthening people’s movements and every one must have access to the building. Correspondent Recalling Bala Gangadhar Rao’s service to the party, particularly in north coastal Andhra districts where the Left movement weakened due to police repressions in 1960’s, he said it gradually picked up over the years. Owing to lack of vibrant leadership even trade unions and mass organization were weakened. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
