3.5 lakh acres to be irrigated under Hundri-Neeva

DHARMAVARAM: About 3.5 lakh acres new irrigation potential would be created in the district during the next two years under the Hundri-Neeva Phase one and two and other medium irrigation projects under construction, Minister for Agriculture N. Raghuveera Reddy stated here on Saturday. Modernisation of HLC and its sub-systems would also irrigate more lands of the existing ayacut, which was not getting water now.

Speaking after the ‘Bhoomi puja’ for the modernisation (lining) of Dharmavaram Branch Canal and construction of diversion channel to feed seven irrigation tanks near here, he said work on the two phases of Hundri-Neeva project was in full swing.
