Attack on newspapers condemned

SRINAGAR: Journalists here on Saturday condemned the attack on newspapers and the seizure of newspaper copies in Jammu.

An emergency meeting of working journalists and editors here condemned the police seizure of copies of the Urdu daily Etalaat, which carried a report on “atrocities” against Muslims in the Jourian area of Akhnoor.

The police raided the newspaper office.

A resolution said the Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Police should brief the media on what exactly was happening in Jammu.
