Former OSD of Stephen’s withdraws petition

NEW DELHI: Former Officer On Special Duty of St. Stephen’s College Valson Thampu on Monday withdrew his petition challenging the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions’ order holding his appointment illegal. Counsel for Mr. Thampu, Sunil Mathews, withdrew the petition submitting that the petition had become in-fructuous since his client had resigned from the post of OSD of the college.

However, Mr. Mathews said he had the liberty to move the Court in future if he wanted to challenge the order on the point of whether the Commission had the power to pass such an order.
