Don Bosco, Mount Carmel triumph

IRINJALAKUDA: The host Don Bosco HSS and Mount Carmel, Kottayam, retained the boys’ and girls’ titles in the 25th Don Bosco all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the Don Bosco School indoor stadium here on Monday.

Shebin Shamsudeen and Amit Sebastian played a big role as the Don Bosco boys crushed St Joseph’s, Thiruvananthapuram, while Mount Carmel defeated Little Flower (Koratty) in the girls’ final.

Final: Boys: Don Bosco HSS, Irinjalakuda 52 (Shebin Shamsudeen 21, Amit Sebastian 18, Ansil Augustine 11) bt St Joseph’s HSS, Thiruvananthapuram 26 (G.Manulal 10). Semifinals: Don Bosco 51 (Amit Sebastian 24) bt Girideepam, Kottayam 23 (Jithu Varghese Jacob 10); St Joseph’s 74(M.Vineeth 21, A.R.Ajith 19, G.Manu Lal 10) bt SC Seminary HSS, Thiruvalla 63 (Kevin Mathew Lal 21, Anil Joseph 10).
