Big win for Friends RC

Coimbatore: Friends Recreation Club notched up a thumping 259-run win over ABT Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-CDCA second division league at the Forest College grounds here on Sunday.

The scores:

Second division: Friends RC 308 for eight in 50 overs (Sathish 78, Senthil 74) bt ABT CC 49 in 17.4 overs; Best VP XI 212 for seven in 50 overs (Tamilarasan 58) bt Stanes 96 in 28.3 overs.

PSG College of Technology defeated Kongu Engineering College (Perundurai) 25-14, 25-20 and emerged champion of the Anna University Zone-7 volleyball tournament for men at the Sri Krishna College of Engineering recently.

The 44th all-India basketball tournament for men and the 34th State-level tournament for schoolboys for the PSG Trophies will be held at the PSG Tech courts from August 13 to 17.

Ranjit Cricket Club ‘A’ (Tiruchengodu) scored a 30-run win over SPB ‘A’ (Pallipalayam) in the Canara Bank-DCAN first division league at the SPB Colony grounds at Namakkal on Sunday.
