Mumbai, Andhra Ranji teams’ practice matches

VIJAYAWADA: Wasim Jaffer-led Mumbai Ranji team will play five practice matches against Andhra Ranji team led by Gyaneswara Rao at the Rural Development Trust stadium at Anantapur from August 19 to 24. The teams will play two two-day, a one-day and one Twenty20 match.

Matches drawn

The Kurnool-Anantapur and Kadapa-Nellore ties in the ACA South Zone under-16 inter-district tournament for the A.V. Narasimha Reddy Trophy ended in draw at Anantapur on Monday.

Both Kadapa and Anantapur pocketed three points by virtue of first innings lead. The tournament will resume on Thursday.

The scores: Kadapa 171 and 54 for no loss in 17 overs drew with Nellore 146 in 77.3 overs (Sri Vamsi three for 14, Saleem Baig three for 30).

Kurnool 158 in 70. 4 overs (Siva Charan Singh 36, Wasim three for 30) and 40 for two in 12 overs drew with Anantapur 170 in 75.4 overs (E. Naresh Babu 53, Rajesh 45 n.o., Vinod Kumar five for 67). — Sports Reporter
