Prabhu shines

Chennai: City off-spinner M. Prabhu grabbed five wickets on the opening day of the Nanal Srinivasan Trophy under-22 match against Combined Districts. In reply, City was on 69 for three at close.

The scores: Combined Districts 149 in 67.1 overs (M. Prabhu five for 33) v City 69 for three in 22 overs.

St. Patrick’s in final

A.R. Vigneshwar’s 64 was the highlight of St. Patrick’s five-wicket win over Modern SSS in the semifinals of the SMCA under-14 schools tournament being held here.

The scores: Modern ‘A’ 115 in 28.1 overs (Dixit Naidu 37, R. Arnold three for 18) lost to St. Patrick’s 116 for five in 26.5 overs (A.R. Vigneshwar 64).

Easy for Kanniah CA

Yasar Arafat picked up three wickets and scored an unbeaten 34 to help Kanniah CA defeat Kedar’s CA by seven wickets in the Little Hearts under-14 league here on Sunday.

The scores: AVM CCF 66 in 22.4 overs (B. Adhitya three for 10) lost to United CA 67 for one in 12.1 overs (J. Kasi Viswanathan 28 not out).

Kedar’s CA 80 in 26.1 overs (Yasar Arafat three for 14, G.B. Senthil Kumar three for six, C.R. Shiva three for none) lost to Kanniah CA 83 for three in 17.4 overs (S. Viswesh 25 not out, Yasar Arafat 34 not out).
