CHENNAI: Former Governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu P.C. Alexander has called for the German model of no-confidence motion to be adopted in India to improve the system of coalition government. Under the German model, whenever a no-confidence motion is tabled in Parliament against the government, it should be accompanied by a confidence motion in support of an alternative formation. If the notice for the confidence motion is not submitted, the no-confidence motion will not be taken up, he said, addressing members of the Rotary Club of Madras on Tuesday. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
