The workshop will focus on issues aplicable to the industry MYSORE: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysore zone, with support from the Department of Factories and Boilers, Mysore division, is organising a workshop on “Legal compliance with the Department of Factories and Boilers onus on occupier and manager” here on Wednesday. The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. The workshop will focus on various issues applicable to the industry, objectives of the legislation, guidelines to the management for compliance, approval of plans of the factory, registration and licensing of factory, renewal of factory licence, transfer, amendment and issue of duplicate licences, exemption provisions under the Factory Act, statutory amenities to be provided in the factories, statutory appointments to be made and statutory registers required to be maintained under the Factories Act, 1948. It will also focus on statutory notices to be displayed, statutory returns to be filed under Factories Act with due dates, statutory periodical examination of plants and equipment to be carried out, recognition of competent person, onus on occupier and manager and so on, a press release here said. D.C. Jagadish, deputy director of factories, Mysore division, will be the chief guest.
