CHENNAI: An Alandur court has directed the Kerala Home Department to produce the report filed by a senior police officer in the incident relating to the alleged misbehaviour of a former Minister with a woman passenger onboard a Kingfisher flight in August 2006. The report was filed by Inspector-General of Police Sandhya following a complaint from Lakshmi Gopakumar, a television personality based in Chennai, that P.J. Joseph had misbehaved with her while they were travelling from Chennai to Kochi. Mr. Joseph was then the Public Works Minister and resigned soon after the report was submitted to the government. Judicial Magistrate N. Ramanathan instructed that along with the officer’s report, the Home Department should also produce all other documents, including the first complaint Ms. Gopakumar had sent to Vijay Mallya, owner of the airlines, soon after the incident. All the documents must be produced before September 16. Examination of witnesses will begin the same day. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
