Win prizes for prompt tax payment

Boddeti Chinatalli of ward 64, who paid property tax of Rs.352 per half-year, won the first prize of Rs.20,000 in the draw of lots on Wednesday for prompt payment of the tax.

Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao drew the lots on Wednesday for assesses who paid the tax for 2007-08 by March 31.

Two second prizes of Rs.10,000 each went to Narava Malleswara Rao of ward 71 (tax paid Rs.1,370) and T. Komala Amaresh (ward 18, Rs.6,288) and three third prizes of Rs.5,000 each to B. Paidamma Narayananamma (ward 26, Rs.126); K. Gopi (ward 42, Rs.126) and G. Chinnam Naidu (ward 71, Rs.102). Lots were also drawn for consolation prizes of Rs.1,000 each to 45 others and 144 gift hampers of Rs.500 each. The prizes will be given on the Independence Day.
