Sale of meat banned on Aug. 15

The Chief Medical and Health Officer of VMC has said that sale of meat and fish is banned on August 15 to mark the Independence Day. In a statement on Wednesday, he said animal slaughter houses and shops selling meat or fish would remain closed on that day and anyone found to be violating the VMC orders would invite stringent action.
